List of items we never take:

Trading for in-store credit:

Appointments are not necessary, but trades are taken in order received. (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday) This means that you may need to come back at a later time or date to pick up your credit and/or books not taken. If this is the case, we call you when your order is finished.

Establish an Account:

Trade books, no more than 20 per day, for in-store credit. We give approximately 20% of the current book price (per internet research) as in-store credit. Your credit is printed on your cash register receipt (the amount is circled in red), and placed with your blue customer card in a plastic sleeve, for use on your visits.

Your credit and customer card will be returned to you along with any books we cannot take. Returned books are marked "cannot take" or "try again", depending on conditionand inventory needs. Please pick up your books within 48 hours of processing date/call; books not picked up are given to charity after one week.

Buying with Credit:

In-store credit transactions include a cash handling fee of $.50 for each item priced over $4.00; $.25 for each item priced $4.00 and under. This fee helps us to cover the process of giving a fair price to each and every book.

Our Prices:

Printed on a label located on the back of the book, or on a bookmark inside the book (for older books), our prices are set at approximately 40% off of current market value. We research fair prices for every book using industry resources on the Internet.

Evaluating and appraising used books:

We don't appraise books. The value of a book depends on the book's rarity, importance, and collector's demand, as well as its condition and ownership history. The following websites can help you evaluate the value of your books:
